Janis Ian

Janis Eddy Fink nasceu em 7 de abril de 1951. É uma cantora, compositora, colunista e autora de ficção científica. Começou sua carreira cantando nos anos 60 e 70, e contiuna até o século 21.
Em 1975 Ian ganhou um Grammy pela canção "At Seventeen". Vem de família judaica em Nova Iorque. Ela cresceu em New Jersey, inicialmente numa fazenda e cursou na East Orange High School e também na New York City High School of Music & Art.

Aos 13, Ian escreveu e cantou seu primeiro hit solo, "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)," sobre um romance interrracial proibido pela mãe de uma garota e desaprovado pelos seus pares e professores.
